Sand & Scribe

A bespoke Orthodox Ketubah written by hand as an original Jewish heirloom. The marriage text itself becomes the artwork, scribed with the traditional Hebrew lettering of sofrut — the sacred scribal craft used for Jewish ritual texts.

Hand-scribed Ketubahs are written in Hebrew or Aramaic. Available Orthodox text traditions include RCA, Chabad, Rabbanut, Sephardi and Ashkenazi. If your officiating rabbi prefers to send a completed or preferred Ketubah text directly, that is also welcome.

After purchase, you’ll receive a form to provide the details needed for your Ketubah. Bluth will work from the selected Orthodox text tradition or the text supplied by your rabbi and will provide a proof before scribing begins.

We recommend commissioning a hand-scribed Ketubah as early as possible. 3–12 months before your wedding is ideal, though shorter timelines may sometimes be possible depending on the scribing schedule.
